Born in New Braunfels, inspired by the world.
Society of Serendipity was created just as it’s namesake suggests - serendipitously. Our founders were born and raised in New Braunfels before leaving and returning, inspired, to where it all started.
About Matt:
Matt grew up in New Braunfels and lived here until he left to pursue a career in film and entertainment. His love of all things culinary started when he was only 15 working at the locally loved Huisache grill and other local restaurants in both the front and back of house in the early 2000s until he left for college on a youth entreprenuership scholarship program to TCU in Ft. Worth.
After college Matt spent more than 15 years in New York City, Nashville, Los Angeles, New Mexico, and abroad before returning to New Braunfels in 2021. Matt’s career has led him around the world working in TV and Film for more than 10 years on projects ranging from the Coen Brothers’ True Grit to directing international fashion shows in London and New York for Saint Laurent, Calvin Klein, and more. Along the way Matt founded the annual Luck Reunion festival based at Willie Nelson’s private ranch as well as the annual Potluck dinner bringing in celebrity chefs from around the country to cook and serve while raising more than $3million for charities in the culinary space.
In the end, Matt wanted to share his passion for hospitality and culinary experiences with the town he grew up in, so in 2021, Matt purchased a home in the same neighborhood he grew up in and hopes to bring some of the incredible experiences that inspired him back to his home town.
